Introducing Scented Roots™ 'Red Rubin' ( Alpinia luteocarpa ), a bamboo ginger built for a little drama: slender, lance-shaped leaves stay cool green on top and blaze a deep ruby-red underneath, the exact shade that gives 'Red Rubin' its name. True to its aromatic ginger roots, it grows in upright, cane-like clumps and may eventually send up creamy white flowers blushed with pink. Give it partial shade to bright, filtered light, an evenly damp and well-drained mix, and the warm, humid corner of your home it was born for, and it will reward you with color at every turn.

If it's an Anthurium your heart desires, then look no further than Arching Amour™ 'Heart's Afire' ( Anthurium hybrid ). This velvet-leaf anthurium unfurls smooth, velveteen-soft, heart-shaped leaves sure to earn your affection — new growth blushes in bronzey-red undertones, like a heart truly afire, before aging to a resplendent dark green laced with intricate, light-colored veining. 'Heart's Afire' is epiphytic and prefers gentle, indirect light set back from a bright window, in well-draining soil; just don't let it sit in soggy soil, or its flame may burn out.

Meet Color Full® 'Helen Kennedy', a calathea ( Calathea dressleri ) patterned like a chessboard and named for the botanist who first described it. Its large, glossy leaves are laid out in alternating patches of deep and silvery green, an eye-catching checkerboard that flips to reveal a rich burgundy underside. Like other calatheas, 'Helen Kennedy' is a true prayer plant, folding its leaves up at night and opening them again with the light. Give it bright, indirect light, high humidity, and water once the top inch of soil dries, and this collector's gem will settle right into your collection.

Say hello to the enigmatic Prismacolor™ 'Electric Eel™' ( Philodendron joepii ), a philodendron that adds a jolt of excitement to any room. This eccentric tropical species is known for its shocking, eel-shaped leaves of solid green, each attached to an elongated petiole and tapered at the midsection like the sinuous silhouette of an eel. Grow it just as you would any philodendron — its solid green leaves will outshine plenty of variegated counterparts, even in medium to lower light.

Behold the beauty that is Prismacolor™ 'Brandtianum' ( Philodendron brandtianum ), a vining, heart-leaf philodendron whose dark olive-green leaves boast splashy, resplendent silver variegation. A true climber, 'Brandtianum' arrives on its own Climb-itt™ pole, ready to send out aerial roots and ascend; give it bright, indirect light to keep that silver marbling glowing, and let it climb — or train it to spill and trail over the edge of its pot instead.

Calathea 'Flamestar' ( Calathea ) lives up to the name, fanning out oval leaves brushed with warm, flame-toned patterning — the kind that earns a Calathea its star billing. Flip a leaf and you'll find a deep purple underside, the quiet contrast behind all that fire up top. Like other prayer plants, 'Flamestar' folds its leaves up at night and opens them again by morning, a small daily performance worth watching. Give it medium to bright, indirect light, evenly damp soil, and the higher humidity it craves, and this Calathea will keep putting on its show.

Meet Network News™ ‘Bubble Green’, a nerve plant ( Fittonia albivenis ) with all the effervescent charm its name promises. Like other Fittonia in the collection, it stays low and compact as it fills in, its light green leaves etched end to end with bright, contrasting fuchsia-pink veins — a network of color that earns its Network News™ name. Give it bright, indirect light (it'll shrug off a dimmer spot too) and consistently damp soil, and don't let it dry out for long: ‘Bubble Green’ likes its humidity high, so a humid bathroom shelf or terrarium suits it well.

Meet the Queen Anthurium. ( Anthurium warocqueanum ) earns the title with long, pendent leaves in deep matte velvet, traced end to end with pale ivory veins like fine botanical embroidery. Native to Colombia and epiphytic by habit, it wants a chunky, airy mix, steady warmth, and genuinely high humidity — a bright bathroom or a glass cabinet suits it well. Give it a high shelf so the foliage can cascade; those long, dramatic leaves are the whole point.

Step into the wild with the Strap Leaf Anthurium ( Anthurium vittariifolium ): instead of anthurium's usual heart-shaped leaf, this one unfurls narrow, deep-green ribbons that cascade from a central point, growing four to eight feet long in the wild. It's an epiphyte native to the Amazon basin, growing on other plants rather than rooting in soil — so at home, pot it in a chunky, well-draining aroid mix, give it bright indirect light and humidity on the higher side, and keep the medium evenly damp without ever letting it fully dry out. Give the ribbons room to hang, and they'll only keep growing.

Something wild is prowling through the understory — meet Velvet Tapestry® 'Pink Panther' ( Episcia cupreata ), a flame violet with a coat as bold as its namesake. Velvety, bronze-to-deep-green leaves are marked with a lighter green pattern down the center of each, like brushstrokes across fur, and under the right conditions it can produce bright pink, trumpet-shaped flowers. As it matures, 'Pink Panther' sends out trailing stolons and will happily cascade from a hanging pot or shelf. Keep it warm, in bright indirect light and evenly damp soil, and water at the soil line — those velvety leaves resent water on their foliage.

Introducing Velvet Tapestry® 'Malayan Gem' ( Episcia cupreata ), a genuine gem woven into our Velvet Tapestry® collection. Fuzzy, velvet-soft leaves glow deep green with coppery veining and hints of pink and purple, edged in warm red-purple margins for extra richness. Left to its own devices, 'Malayan Gem' sends out trailing runners in every direction, so give it room (or a hanging spot) to wander. It thrives in bright, indirect light but tolerates a dimmer spot too, prefers high humidity, and likes to stay evenly hydrated — a terrarium or misty bathroom shelf suits it well.

Siesta™ Mint Chocolate™ ( Maranta leuconeura ) earns its name with cool green brushstrokes over each elliptical leaf, joined by rich, cocoa-brown blotches for a dessert-inspired palette that’s strictly a treat for the eyes. Give ‘Mint Chocolate’ medium to bright, indirect light, consistently damp soil, and good humidity, and — like every Maranta in the Siesta™ collection — it will fold up its patterned leaves each night in a ritual known as nyctinasty, drifting off to its own sweet dreams.

Its name says it all: Tropical Tendrils™ 'Tahitian Dreamin'' brings warm, breezy island vibes into your space. This upward-reaching Piper ( Piper sylvaticum ) unfurls fine vines of heart-shaped leaves brushed in silver over dark green veining, for an almost-reptilian shimmer. Give it a few hours of gentle morning sun and it may blush pink for an even dreamier display — just keep it out of harsh direct light, or it may get a sunburn. This one ships on its own Climb-itt™ support, thriving in a warm, humid spot with medium light.
