Art Deco™ Gothic™ is a tropical masterpiece, embodying all the bold lines and textures of gothic architecture. It has large, arrowhead-shaped leaves of dark green that come to a point, reminiscent in shape to the pointed arches of grand cathedrals. Leaves have an unusual corrugated texture and silvery-green markings down the center of each half, giving them even more dimension and the look of sculpted gothic symbols. Your Gothic™ Schismatoglottis walichiii can grow to be an impressive 2-3 feet tall and wide–a living sculpture worthy of any gallery.
Ribbon Dance™ is the more compact, narrow-leaved counterpart to Sword Dance™, perfect for adding a little leafjoy® in your collection. This silver staghorn fern is aptly named for its strappy, elongated fronds which sway together like ribbons. These fronds are embellished with tiny scale-like hairs that give a silvery, felted appearance and help Ribbon Dance™ absorb nutrients and retain moisture. That said, avoid using leaf shine products or wiping away this layer of fuzz. In nature, staghorn ferns typically grow as epiphytes on the surface of other plants, such as clinging to the crook of a tree. Consequently, they don’t require much soil fertility, can thrive in diffuse or indirect sunlight, and prefer to dry out completely in between watering.
Inspired by the bold, expressive style of famed artist Diego Rivera, is another Schismatoglottis in our Art Deco™ collection–meet ‘Rivera’. Each leaf on this rare and unusual tropical plant is like a living canvas. Each glossy, heart-shaped leaf showcases a dark emerald green base, splashed with random splotches of silvery-green variegation. Leaves are corrugated in texture, with small ridges and ripples, which add even more depth and dimension. Over time, ‘Rivera’ can grow up to 2 feet tall and wide, each new leaf becoming a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, worthy of Rivera’s vibrant legacy!
Perhaps the most dazzling variety in our Shimmering Falls® collection is a Scindapsus known as ‘Kalimantan’. This Borneo-native features sparkling trusses of waxy, ovate-shaped leaves in cool tones of mint green. Leaves are accented with soft emerald green variegation and awash with tiny sparkles of silver, almost as if they have been sprinkled with pixie dust. You can take care of your ‘Kalimantan’ in much the same way you would care for a Philodendron or a Pothos. Provide medium to bright, indirect light, water when the top 1-2 inches of soil dries out, and fertilize occasionally, and your Scindapsus will send out vines of shimmering, falling leaves.
