Every hand needs a ‘Queen of Hearts’ — this velvet-leaf cultivar (Anthurium hybrid) is the best card in the deck. New leaves emerge in deep red, bronze, and blush pink before maturing into a rich, near-black green, each one traced with pale, silvery veins for striking contrast. Upright and architectural, with long petioles holding each heart-shaped leaf aloft, ‘Queen of Hearts’ asks for bright, indirect light, high humidity, and water once the soil has mostly dried — just never let it sit wet. Living Lace® Wooly Tassel™ keeps its down on the soil: this rabbit's foot fern ( Davallia fejeensis ) pairs finely cut, dark green fronds with fuzzy, light brown rhizomes that creep across the surface of the pot and dangle over the rim like little tassels. Those furry feet are the whole show, so let them wander instead of tidying them away. Step into the wild with the Strap Leaf Anthurium ( Anthurium vittariifolium ): instead of anthurium's usual heart-shaped leaf, this one unfurls narrow, deep-green ribbons that cascade from a central point, growing four to eight feet long in the wild. It's an epiphyte native to the Amazon basin, growing on other plants rather than rooting in soil — so at home, pot it in a chunky, well-draining aroid mix, give it bright indirect light and humidity on the higher side, and keep the medium evenly damp without ever letting it fully dry out. Give the ribbons room to hang, and they'll only keep growing.

If it's an Anthurium your heart desires, then look no further than Arching Amour™ 'Heart's Afire' ( Anthurium hybrid ). This velvet-leaf anthurium unfurls smooth, velveteen-soft, heart-shaped leaves sure to earn your affection — new growth blushes in bronzey-red undertones, like a heart truly afire, before aging to a resplendent dark green laced with intricate, light-colored veining.
